I had a cell phone through Alltel Communications that was stolen in 2005. Alltel agreed to release me from any liability regarding this account. So I haven't thought anything of it. But for some reason, Pinnacle Credit Services got the debt in May and has been hounding me to pay this debt.
I've informed them neumerous times that I've been released from liability on the account by Alltel, but it's like they just ignore me. I've asked for validation 2 times now with no response other than I have to provide them with proof. As far as I understand they have the "burden of proof"... Am I wrong? Not to mention the people with whom I've spoken to are EXTREMELY RUDE and DEMANDING.
I've "reported the inaccurcies" 3-4 times on my credit report but each time nothing gets changed. Pinnacle keeps checking at my credit report for some reason too. Today I finally filed a complaint with the BBB.
