SCAM: tenantmarketplace.org
Tenantmarketplace.org used to be EZRental.org

This company posts ads in local newspapers across the country, and on the internet. For houses and other properties to rent, when you call the local number the post, they direct you to call a 800 number. Then they offer a list of rental properties with no credit check, with a money back garantee, for a $149 dollars.

It obviously sounds too good to be true, but over that phone they will tell you ANYTHING to get you to pay that money. Basically after you pay they send you a list of rental properties, that you could have gotten on Craigslist.com or on any other classified site for free. All of the properties are not in the price range or location as advertised, and have securtiy deposit and a background check. They dont have anything they say they do, including a money back guarantee. Many of the listed properties have no idea they are being listed by this company, they have never even heard of them.

The employees they have anwsering there phones are the nicest people, until you pay, after that they are ignorant fools, running there mouths off. Acting like nothing can be done to them for lying, taking peoples money, and providing no service.in certain cases they are known to challenge there customers to attempt for the refund. Threatening to erase evidence of diligent searching for properties over the 120 day trial period.

This company takes advantage of people with bad credit, in hard times. It seems to be, they get away with this because they don't like to give any information out about themselves.

This company is a SCAM!!!

Below is all the info I have come across, dont let this happen to you.

This link below is a news story, that ran about EZRental on ABC7 Local News in Washington, DC in Sept. 2007.

Re: SCAM: tenantmarketplace.org
To hear this company had a news piece air last year, while they had a different website name with so many complaints. And then realize I have been scammed by the same company with its newer name, sickens me.

I too have been scammed by tenantmarketplace.org just like you described I called a local phone number, that had me transfered to a 800 number. I was told they had many properties in one price range and in the particular area I was looking for. I had a few of my friends and family call to verify, this before I paid the fee. Once I did pay that fee, I received a list of properties, all that I had seen before on other newspapers/sites. And all not in the location and price range they said they had. I gave them a few weeks and got a few new lists but, it was all the same. The ignorance that you spoke of is so true, once you pay that money they talk to you like your trash.

No Credit checks ha ha, every property had a credit check. They lead you to belive that they have personal relationships with the landlords of the properties they have on there "lists", but every property I called never heard of tenantmarketplace.org or anything like it.

They obviously do just what the news piece states. They go thru craigslist and other sites, pull rental ads and sell them.

There is something seriously wrong with this company or any other company that does bussiness in this way. Posting ads for properties you don't have, is not ethical. Lying to me over the phone saying you have something you don't to get me to pay for a service, you can not provide is not ethical. Both should be very illegal.

EDIT:
I Just wanted to add I found the orginal ad in the Seattle Times, that I responded too. I wish I had more info to add to your findings wad.
