I Recently placed an order through Gallery 84, but before placing an order for five chandeliers and two wall sconces with a representative named "David" I asked very pointed questions. I asked if the chandeliers were made of the crystal which was stated on his site to which his response was "yes".
When I opened the initial package which had the shades enclosed, I was horrified because they were filthy and had hot glue plastered all over them. I called Gallery 84 and spoke with someone from Customer Service, I told her about the situation and that I wanted a refund for them, she put me on hold and came back with the response that they would credit my account for five dollars each, I informed her that I paid $10.00 each, after she put me on hold again said she would credit my account for $10.00 each for 11 shades. I called my credit card company today and it hasn't been credited, it has been over two weeks since that discussion.
In the meantime, I continued to open up the rest of the boxes and noticed upon inspection that the Chandeliers and sconces flowers on the arms of the Maria Theresa Chandeliers were plastic flowers and the arms were metal with glass on either side of the arm, the metal shows on the bottom, but it wasn't in the description and there isn't a close up shot of the Chandelier so that it could be seen on their site.
I called Gallery 84 again and spoke with "Jack" and told him about the initial conversation I had with David when I placed the order. I told him the site is deceitful and doesn't give full descriptions of the items, and his reply was that it would take up too much space to describe each item individually. I told him that I ordered the Chandeliers through David and he didn't describe anything about metal showing on the arms or the fact that they were attached with plastic flowers, on the contrary David stated they were crystal.
The site also states that the Chandeliers I ordered are made of Swarovski and 100% hand blown Murano venetian Crystals. That's not even close to the truth, they are made of glass and plastic. Jack told me I could choose Chandeliers from the Venetian or Royal Collection since they are all crystal with no metal showing on the bottoms of the arms. I found a few chandeliers for replacements, I called back and was put on hold several times before I was able to place my order. I was also informed that I would have to pay to ship back the Chandeliers. I asked if they would just credit back my account and found out that wouldn't credit my account.
My other complaint is about their crystals most of them are scratched and have bubbles. The crystals aren't wrapped individually and they're all shipped in packing paper. The Chandeliers are below substandard and they aren't made from 30% crystal as they stated. I was deceived but the bottom line is they don't care and will not return my money.
My husband and I have seen their advertisements and website in scores of upscale magazines and thought they were a reputable company. Our credit card company said they could take up to 90 days to credit our account.
