Billing for unsolicited magazine subscriptions — Numbers to call to cancel

I've been receiving bills for a subscription to Reader's Digest, which I had not ordered. After three months of returning the bills unpaid, I received a "Final Reminder" for $10.00. I'm willing to donate $10.00 to a charitable organization, but I won't pay for something I haven't ordered and certainly haven't received.

If you need to cancel a subscription, including one you've never authorized, call 1-800-304-2807 or 1-800-334-9599. (You won't find that number on your bill.) Your call will go overseas to a polite person who promises to take care of the problem, with no explanation of how the problem arose in the first place.interesting...
