I went to pick up my drycleaning which was already paid for. The young employee handed to me the 5 (3 of which were brand new... I had just removed the card board and straight pins from the shirts that were bought from Palais Royal several weeks prior) of my husband's drycleaned shirts, my white blouse, pair of pants and my favorite grey button down cardigan. I notice one of my husband's shirts was slightly pressed and wrinkled with all sorts of blue and red stains on it. As I was talking to the lady/owner from afar (she would not even walk over to where I and her employee were standing) I notice the employee quickly pull out one of the straight pins and toss it to the floor.
The owner hardly ever looked me in the eye and continued sorting clothes while telling me that I brought the shirt in already stained. She also tried to defend her stance by telling me that another customer brought in a shirt that had similar stains.
Let's think about this for a second. Another customer had similar stains to this... Blue and red discolored round stains??? How could I and another customer of hers create the same type of stains to our shirts!
Never have I received such bad service and been outright lied to. It was a non winning battle. I would have taken an apology and a small credit of $7.
By the way, I bought the shirt for only 7 or 8 bucks on sale at Palais Royal. It wasn't just about the shirt, it was more about this lady lieing to me and basically telling me I was a liar. She said that all her customers lie and tell her it's a new shirt. She then told me that when people do bad things it comes around later in life. Hmmmmm... I'm glad she realizes that.
So I left extremely mad and upset, physically shaking from the shock of her actions. When I arrived home I realize I had not checked my sweater and pants. My light grey sweater had faded yellow/orange spots on one side in the front and part of the sleeve. I guess I managed to do that too!
What's funny is this was my first time this dry cleaners. When I went in to leave my clothes there was another customer complaining about a stain on their shirt that was not there when dropped off. I should have walked back out... Oh well! Learned a lesson the hard way.
