Downtown Seattle $2000 Omega watch destroyed and they blame poor materials in the watch and try to charge me for the repai

I had my Omega Seamaster watch in for service a few months back. It simply ran about 5 seconds fast to the day, a simple regulation required. I was told it would take 24 hours so I left my watch there. I came in the next day at the time they told me to to find out it wasn't done and wouldn't be for a few days. "It always takes five days or so..." this new person told me. No phone call from them during this.

I got my watch back only to have the second hand FALL OFF the very next day. I saved pictures and have witnesses. I turned the watch back in and the watchmaker did fix that in a timely manner.

Slowly, my watch began winding down more and more quickly. This is an automatic movement watch that winds itself with motion as well as a crown which can be wound. Before its visit to Ben Bridge, it tool three days of sitting on the shelf untouched and unwound to come to a stop. Today, with daily windings and regular wearing, it will occasionally stop while on my arm.
Grrrr. Okay, back to Ben Bridge with my receipts. I turn the watch in. The watchmaker was supposed to get a hold of me within a few days with a diagnosis. No call after a week. I call in and talk to Phil, whom I believe was the watchmaker who service the watch causing the hand to fall off, who said he'd be my "advocate" and would get back to me either the next day (last friday) or Tuesday after Memorial Day. No call from Phil. I had to call the factory repair center, Nesbit's, who said they would only deal with the store front but promised me they give Ben Bridge a call to update me. Wednesday I call in and get Eileen, a watchmaker who was out of the office the week prior. She states it will take about 5-6 weeks and $290 to fix it. I stated again that Ben Bridge should cover the cost. She said I should take up my claim through the store I bought it from as a warranty claim citing that the oils in the watch can break down over time and eventually cause these problems.

Perhaps over 10 years or more maybe, but not on a three year old watch!

I will update this posting as this progresses and let everyone know if the jeweler comes around with a fair resolution.
