On January I was contact by Mrs. Lorena Barret to come back and work for Network Omni Language Services as English/Spanish interpreter. Working from the comfort of my home in Puerto Rico.
Before I decided to said yes, I thought about the irregularities on the payment method that this company had before.
But at that point my husband had suffer a heart attack, and we needed an extra income.
My mistake was on beliving that they fixed it. Mrs. Lorena Barret was very clear that I will receive my payments on time. But as I suspected it was a complete lie.
As of today I have not receive my payments form January thru April.
I email the Invoice department every other day about three times a day, sometimes they don't even answer, and when they do is to request me to have a little patient, that they are doing there best on working on my invoices. Yeah, right!
Mrs. Lorena Barret, offer me a salary of $9.00 p/h, because I have a bachelor degree, and because I will be an specialized interpreter, meaning that I will only receive calls from Insurance Companies and 911. Not true. I received all types of calls.
I haven't receive not even one payment. On I worked with them until December, that I couldn't take anymore, it was Chritmas and I received my payment the 26th, because I gave them a hard time, calling them every day and emailing them as often as humanly possible.
Now in 2008 things have been worst than before. When I accept to work with them again, I knew that I was taking a big risk giving them the chance to prove that they have take resposabilities for their Interpreters, but instead they are laughing at us.
Even though, Network Omni, is a company that provides services to all types of industries, it seems that they forget that we have responsabilities with those industries. If you don't pay to your creditors, your credit will go down the drain, your name and yours will be affect.
This company haven't mature at all. They are playing a very dangerous game, they are helping destroy the economy. They don't respect the human rights at all. They explode the interpreters with long hours of work, without breaks or lunch time.
Being and interpreter is a very delicate job, we do it with respect and joy, because we are helping people to understand each other. But no one works for free. When they approach people they never mention that we will work as volunteers.
What Network Omni is doing is very bad for the health. Physically they explote us, mentally they drain us., there are many factors that can lead you to a heart attack and not receiving your payment on time is one of them.
To tell you more I may have to file for bankruptcy thanks to Network Omni.
My daughter had an educational trip with her school, and we had to cancel it because I didn't have the money to pay for the trip.
In my part a will do what ever it takes to receive my payments. My family deserves respect, and so do I.
