Last Spring I had ordered Directv's "MLS Direct Kick" for my husband and son to be able to watch all of the LA Galaxy's matches. This is a combination package done with Qwest which I have everything bundled with.
It was Directv.com which I ordered the MLS package from.
When we couldn't get the Galaxy's home games we called Directv and asked them why. They said it was considered a home game and was blacked out. A black out area? Hello, we are in Phoenix and this game is in Los Angeles! There was no need to have this package if we couldnt see ALL of the Galaxy's games and so we told them after the end of the Season to cancel the package. (it renews each year unless you specifically call the cancel)
At the end of the Season in December, I went to the Directv website on our account to see that it was still a pending order for next season! It wouldnt let me take it off of our account. It said I had to call to change the status. I called Directv and asked why was it on there in the first place because we had said that after last season we wanted it gone. I was informed it was never taken off (obviously) and they wanted to know why I didn't want it. I explained why and said if we couldnt watch ALL of the Galaxy games we didnt want any of it. I was told it would be taken off.
Fast forward to my last Qwest billing. I am being charged $19.75 per month for the next 4 months for MLS Direct Kick. I called up Qwest who in turn put us on a three way call with Directv. I was informed that since it wasnt cancelled before the season I owe the WHOLE amount! I informed her that I did talk at length with Directv reps who I told to take it off my pending account well before the season even began!
I am told it is too late for this season but was told what to do for next season which I did already but was still charged this year. So what can I do to assure it wont happen again? The reassurance was telling me to do what I already did before the season begun. Like that really helped! They will not credit me and will continue to charge me this season.
Something needs to be done to stop this company from doing these unfair practices.
