When I came to Bernard Haldane Associates in Bellevue in July, I layed out my expection up front that they would use your knowledge of and leads into the unpublished job market to help me find not only employment, but GAINFUL and MEANINGFUL employment in a position in which I could use my particular talents, strengths, experiences, and interests.
First, I found the Haldane Web site a sham. It was poorly-designed with outdated and less-than-useful links, and with old job postings that had already been filled. I traced a number of the so-called leads and found that they were months old and already filled. I followed instructions, however, did research, developed a resume, focus piece and campaign plan, contacted and interviewed people in the publishing industry, and failed to find, not only employment, but even further referral interview contacts after nearly 2 months of waging my campaign. When, as a result of these negative experiences, I most needed a consultation with my Bernard Haldane counselor in early September, he failed to return my numerous phone calls.
In summary, I found Haldane's pusillanimous perfomance record a significant setback in terms of lost time and money in my search for work. I could not recommend them to anyone under any circumstances. Rather I say, Buyer beware.
