This company really does prey on those who have just graduated and/or are finding it hard to find a job. They are constantly looking to hire new people. Their adds are always up on monster, careerbuilder & craigslist. I was somewhat desperate, as well as curious, so I went to the second interview, which turned out to be a wonderful day out and about with some nice, albeit somewhat victimized young men. My reaction after I was offered a third interview...
Dear sir/madam,
After careful consideration of the desperate straights our economy finds itself in, I have reached the decision that I am not ready to take a position at Universal Online as 'Account Executive'. Perhaps this should be clarified, seeing that I'm missing out on an enormous opportunity to go places and to really build my resume. Although I have nothing in particular against the fulfilling cause of door-to-door sales, I believe that door-to-door-sales-people are the most obnoxious people one can come across.
From the phony smile to the pathetic handshake, not to mention the oh so funny little punchline, all so personalized and witty...
I suppose I could go on to become an 'Assistant Manager'. I wonder what percentage of the initial 'Account Executives' do so. Perhaps I should guess, then again, maybe not. If you tell your 'Assistant Managers' to inform the new 'prey' of certain numbers and statistics, perhaps you would do good not to just throw numbers at them and to actually have them understand what those numbers signify. I have a hard time believing that the net worth of office supplies is 250 billion per annum, in the whole world.
Well, at least once you move up from being a 'Corporate Trainer' you get to screw people over (I imagine you lie a lot too) in the hopes of then moving up to be a 'Manager'. I don't even want to guess.
In any case, your business model seems to be rather flawed, it is only a matter of time before it crashes. Just my opinion. You are supposed to care about the people you hire and not treat them like pawns that may or may not fall. I have pity on you and your employees.
Thank you for allowing me to experience a day in the life of someone more miserable than I, that's probably the best you've done for anyone in a while.

There were several very talented people I spoke to that were being sucked in to this charade. These people could do much better!
Also, why is Quill/Staples, as well as Verizon allowing this company to taint its reputation? Do these companies not care about these overworked people who have no benefits and are taken advantage of and are made to go to door to door acting as salespeople for their companies? I suppose not!
