Dear Attorney General Nixon and Ms. Ginther:
In response to your letter dated February 22 I submit the following:
A. A copy of my original complaint filed August 8 and subsequent correspondence with your office.
B. The original advertisement from nextdaypets.com showing that Christi Harmon advertised FULL AKC REGISTRATION and PEDIGREE
C. Email correspondence from Christi Harmon dated July 9 verifying that Charlie was available.
D. Transaction Details from PayPal showing I paid Christi Harmon Kennels $1,161.00 on July 10
E. Email correspondence from Christi Harmon dated July 11 showing the flight information.
F. Email correspondence between Christi Harmon and me dated July 12 informing me that she would mail the AKC puppy papers and pedigree.
G. The Small Animal Health Certificate listing Paula Walters (Christi Harmons mother) the consignor and the puppys birth date as April 22 signed by Leon D. Jenkins. This certificate is dated July 11. This certificate was attached to the puppys kennel for shipment.
H. The Shot/Wormings list from Christi Harmon that I received with the puppy. This list was attached to the puppys kennel.
I. Email correspondence between me and Christi Harmon beginning August 10 in which I informed Christi that I did not receive the AKC papers and that Charlie had Kennel Cough when I received him at the airport. Christi Harmons reply dated August 14 stating that I should have already received the AKC papers. My response to Christi Harmon on August 15 stating that I contacted the AKC and they did not have any record of her requesting or registering a puppy and another request for Charlies pedigree.
J. Copy of Claim I filed with PayPal and Christi Harmons responses dated August 16.
K. Copy of email correspondence between Christi Harmon and me dated August 16 in which I once again stated the facts and requested the AKC papers and pedigree and her response.
L. Copy of the complaint I filed with the Better Business Bureau of Southwest Missouri against Harmon Kennels/Christi Harmon on August 17 and her responses to complaint. Case remains open to the best of my knowledge.in her response she states that she will send me the AKC papers Certified.
M. Copy of complaint to American Kennel Club dated August 20.
N. Copy of correspondence between Next Day Pets Customer Support and myself regarding Christi Harmon.
O. Copies of reports filed against Christi Harmon and Paula Walters from usacomplaints.com dated from my original complaint filed on August 17 until present.
P. Copy of letter dated January 4 from the American Kennel Club in reference to my complaint. Please not that this letter states that they recently received the required documentation from the litter owner to offer registration services for this dog. Also please note that the litter owner only gave limited registration.
Q. Copy of fax to the American Kennel Club which was sent with original advertisement showing FULL AKC rights and PayPal payment receipt.
R. Copy of one of Christi Harmons advertisements on Puppyfind.com stating that she has a 1 year Genetic Health Guarantee and will also take a puppy/dog backif ever needed.
S. Copy of the response your office received from Christi Harmon stating that I received my AKC papers and that I have been harassing her and telling lies about her and her business.
T. Copy of Litter Record that Christi Harmon sent to you along with her response. As you can see by the Litter Record there are a number of inconsistencies. For one she has the birth date of 4/12/07. All correspondence and Health Certificate that I received stated that the puppys birth date is 4/22/07. The Litter Record shows 1 Male and 2 Female Puppies in the upper left corner on the form and then shows 2 Male and 1 Female under sex. Please note also that I am listed, a woman from Wyoming is listed and Paula Walters (Christi Harmons Mother) is listed as new owners. Also please note that Limited Y/N is not checked on any of the puppies. I have requested the original Litter Record from the AKC because I am not sure that this is not something that Christi Harmon fabricated.
I am sorry that this response is so detailed but I wanted you to have all the facts.
The facts are that Christi Harmon advertised a FULL AKC registration and pedigree. I paid for FULL AKC registration and pedigree. I have received neither. The birth date on the Health Certificate and papers she sent me is April 22. The birth date on the Litter Record is April 12. The puppy was advertised as one of nine, eight males and one female. The Litter Record shows three puppies and either 1 male and 2 females or 2 males and 1 female.
Additional information that has not yet been confirmed would be that I requested a DNA kit from the AKC and have sent in my puppys DNA for analysis. I will forward the results to you as soon as I receive them.
This has been a horrific ordeal and, unfortunately, I am not the only person who has had to pick up the pieces after conducting business with Christi Harmon. I bought a Clumber Spaniel to show at AKC sanctioned shows and have not been able to do so.
Christi Harmon has not only advertised falsely and committed interstate fraud, she had slandered innocent people.
