Amerigas is above the law. They make up rules as they go along.
We were hit by a tornado in the summer of 2006 and our tank was knocked over. We set it back up and all seemed ok but apparently it damaged the gauge.in Nov. The tank ran out and we called for a fill-up. The temps were in the 30s. They told us they would be here within 10 days so we dragged our electric heaters around with us and bundled up with sweaters and coats and kept warm as best we could. On the 10th day I finally called and was told they'd get here within the next couple days. They never showed.
We were forced to buy a pellet stove just to survive. They could have cared less if we had all frozen to death. I'm a 65 year old grandma and have a 10 year old granddaughter living with me. Their total disregard for human life is very disturbing.
On THANKSGIVING DAY they had the gaul to call and in a "cheerful" voice proclaim that we would be getting a fill-up the next day. Gee, how lucky we were! Why didn't they just spit in my face???
At this point we decided to get another pellet stove and stop using the propane furnace. It has cut our heating bill in half.
In January I received 2 bills and paid both, not realizing that the one bill had incorporated both bills... They actutually owed me $98 and never informed me.in July I received another bill. It showed the $98 credit and stated I owed for the price guarantee, which I never signed up for. I called and they removed the charge and I informed them I wanted the $98 reimbursed. I called several more times throughout the rest of the year asking for the return of my $98. They said they never knew I wanted it returned... Or said we don't handle that, you have to call this number... On and on. I finally received a check for $98 in January.
Now, this month, February I received a bill for $165 for rental of the tank.
Does Amerigas ever stop with the corruption??? I'm retired and living on a fixed income. First they tried to freeze us to death and now they want my grocery money so we can starve to death.
Their greed is more important than human life.
