I was contacted by Ms. Weaver to be a model at her "agency". I went in for an interview and she wanted hundreds of dollars up front to sign me on. I didn't want to pay upfront as I had modeled before in NY and LA and knew that wasn't done. She then said she needed office help with booking and new talent and could pay me (GASP) $6.00 per hour. Side note - any reputable agencies DO NOT charge any upfront fees. Real agencies will just take usually a 10% fee off jobs you book and not charge for photos or to be listed on their website. She charges the max of 20% much like a personal manager would and has many extra charges to the talent.
Ms. Weaver also likes to take advantage of poor, young families by promising them they will make the money back from fees because she "can get many jobs for infants and toddlers." This is highly false. While I was in her employ, I saw this happen over and over again. When they can't or won't contnue payments to her because they either can't afford the exorborant fees or they feel disenchanted at the fact that they are paying these fees and no jobs come their way.
She employs people full time to just call on past due fees from talent that has never booked anything or even been offered any sort of quality job. The talent is responsible for gas to and from the job, and many times these are very far away or hotel expenses if you have to stay on location. Doesn't even know to negotiate that into the job specs.
You will be lucky to get some promo jobs (ie: perfume girls or handing out flyers) out of her but only if you are young and beautiful. But if you are THAT young and beautiful. Why not try a REAL agency.
If you want to see Linda, you may drive by her office and see her screaming her head off at anyone who happens to be near her. It was a hostile work environment to say the least. A hobby of hers is to humiliate and chastise employees in front of other employees and even talent. She has a terrible temper and more than a bit unstable in the emotions.
I just want to warn people out there so that the same thing doesn't happen to them.
