Bernard Haldane Associates prints ad in Memphis newspaper for pharmaceutical sales rep.
Ad sounds good (but they are not as smart as they think they are)
Every other pharmaceutical sales position asks for at least 1 year of experience - their ad states "it is not required".
Wow - how many people are going to jump at a lucrative career like this? No direct experience? I'm in!
Ad sends you to "free assessment web-site which promises a "free career assessment".
But before we get to that, they want to know your state of mind: desperate? Bored? Broke? Need that break?
Boom - you get your "free assessment" which is nothing more than a speil on how all people are different.
Now they know where your emotions are at. They wait a week or so as not to look too obvious.
Boom - here comes your e-mail! The "Vice President" has reviewed your resume - he wants to interview you!
Unfortunately for them, but fortunately for me, I found this web-site and read each and every one of the testimonials. Thank You people of the world! You all can learn from this one too!
I e-mail the "administrator" back and say, I would rather you e-mail me with the date and time as I will schedule my day around it. PS: I have read the consumer complaints (all of it). If this is a REAL job with a REAL company, you will be contacting me. If not, I know I will never hear from you again. Have a Great Day.
SHE WRITES ME BACK!"Thank you for your interest in our company. We are NOT a placement organization but rather a career accelorator, blah, blah, blah.
So we have "false advertising", deception, scam artistry. I am so glad they didn't get me! Many, many thanks to all of you good people who take the time to warn others.
My next move is the BBB of this city!
Thank You
Sue
