Is not providing me with the service that they state they would in there contract and they will not cancel my contract unless i pay for it

I got direct tv in july of 07'. The picture is garbage. I bought a brand new 50" sanyo hd tv and the pic was garbage so i brought the tv back, thinking the tv was the problem. I then purchased a 50" vizio hd tv and again the picture was garbage. It also began losing the volume and i would have to pop out the card and put it back in again to get the volume again. This was happening about 5 times a day.

I called up direct tv and asked about an hd box. The person couldn't speak english so i had to hang up and call again. I spoke with a person that said an hd box would cost$99.00. I then hung up and spoke with my wife about it and then called back. I received another person that could'nt speak english. Hung up and called back again. Received a person and told her i was calling about the hd box. She told me it would cost $299.00 and a renewed contract. I then asked how long my current contract is and she stated 1 year.

I hung up and called back just to see if i would get another different answer. I was then told that it would cost $99.00 and that my contract was as long as the contract was that i had with verizon because i got the package deal of verizon phone and internet, and direct tv all for $99.00.

I then called verizon and they stated that they have nothing to do with the contract i have with direct tv. I called direct tv back and asked for a supervisor. Mind you by this time i lost the color picture. My new vizio was now black and white.

I told the supervisor (michelle, employee#u5343) i was tired of the loss of volume, loss of color, popping the card in and out, non-english speaking direct tv employees, each employee giving me a different answer to my questions, the lies, and that i wanted out of my contract with them. Michelle told me they would send a service truck out to me within a few days. I asked her what would happen if they cant fix the problem and she said they would keep sending trucks out there until its fixed. I then asked her, "you would spend the money and time to send them out here over and over instead of just letting me out of my contract?" and she stated, "yes because we'll make the money back off you in the long run."

I then asked to speak to her supervisor and she told me he was on the other line and he could call me back in 24-48 hours.in the beginning of the conversation she told me it was going to cost me $230.00 to get out of the contract.By the end of the conversation she told me it would cost $240.00 to get out of it. I again asked to speak to her supervisor and she put me on hold for over 30 minutes and i finally hung up. I got the package deal of verizon phone and internet, and direct tv all for $99.00. I haven't had a bill for under $130.00 and verizon stated that direct tv is charging me way too much.
