We tried cancelling our DVD membership a year ago (we hadn't had any outstanding purchase obligations for several years) and their representative, pretty much, wouldn't let us; he ended up putting us on a program that he promised would only keep our membership open without sending us the dreaded monthly "Director Selections" that we would have to respond to or get a new DVD in the mail. That lasted about 6 months before we began getting the "Director Selection" mailings again and if I got a DVD in the mail, I would just mark "Return to Sender" and we never had a problem until we tried to really close the account about a month ago when now they're claiming we owe them for a movie that we already sent back to them months ago!
