I purchased a Serta Perfect Sleeper queen size bed and box spring in 8 from Sleepys, New Hyde Park, NY. The cost was almost $ 1000.
Slowly the mattress got weaker and now has lumps and hard spots. This defect is very uncomfortable and painful.
I notified Sleepys and they sent an inspector. He took photos and stated the sag was only 7/8 " and not bad enough to replace. I told him the hard spots
could not be seen by the sag test but could only be felt while laying on the bed. He stated that he would make a note of that fact.
About 3 weeks later I contacted Sleepys and they stated that they could not do anything since they and the manufacturer will only act if the sag is over 1 1/2 ". I then contacted Serta and they also agreed.
The fact that this mattress i and coils is obviously defective has no bearing on my complaint. If the plush padding was removed from the bed the sag of 1 1/2 'would absolutley be seen.
Why should I suffer with this defective mattress especially after paying almost $1000. Sag or no sag this bed is painful!!!
I will never shop at Sleepys or buy a Serta Imperfect bed again.
I am filing a compaint with the Federal Trade Commission and other Federal,
State and City (NYC) agencies.
