In March of my fiance and I purchased a wedding ring set. We opened an account with Friedman's Jewelers. We were charged for the rings, warranty and an appraisal of the engagement ring. We were told we should receive the appraisal in two weeks by mail. After a month no appraisal, but I received my monthly bill just fine. I called repeatedly to check on the appraisal and I traveled 300 miles once a month for 9 months checking with the store in search of my appraisal.
After 12 months of pursuing the issue, management changed and no one ever found the appraisal. Then I made the mistake to go to a different Friedman's Jewelers. The store clerk charged me with another appraisal fee on a men's watch. One and a half years later, I stilll don't have an appraisal. This incident makes me question the authenticity of my jewelery. I've learned my lesson. I will never purchase jewelry from the Friedman's franchise again.
