Complaint / Review
Transtech Merchant Group
Fraudulent company

Where to begin... I was fired from my previous job at a bank, due to cashing what turned out to be a fraudulent check from a customer. I had been on unemployment, searching daily for a job for about 2 months, when I received an email from monster.com about transtech. I'm sure anyone reading this has read the previous statements regarding transtech, how they offer sales leads, bonuses, etc.

I replied to monsters' email and was shortly contacted by terri, a recruiter for transtech and one of their sister companies, summit.

Terri went through a brief phone interview with me. Quite honestly all my answers were, "Yeah" and "Uh-huh". To which she replied, "Well it sounds like you know what you're talking about, so I'll get you set up" she explained that they do background checks etc, and there assuming I passed, i'd be set up and there would be a phone training session, then 2 days after that, i'd be in the field selling transtechs' services.

I of course passed the background check, transtech had sent out 2 large binders will all the information that would be covered in the phone training. During the phone training, Roger, the trainer read through everything that was present, I should also state there was a slide show off their website with some additional information not present in the binders.

To give a little insight, the phone interview went from 9 am to 6:30 pm, with frequent breaks in between. Roger gave extra emphasis on the commission section.

He stated that we would receive a $95 application fee, which at our discretion could be waived or lowered. Next, he stated that unlike most other sales commissions, transtech NEVER did charge-backs. For those of you who've done sales before and have experienced charge-backs, you'll understand how much they suck!

Roger also had stated during the phone training, while going over the "Fees" Section of the application, that there was a monthly minimum. His exact wording was that a company must be making at least $25 in credit card sales / month, or they would receive a $25 fee. Towards the end of my "career" at transtech, Korrey, my "Team Leader" clarified and said that no, they will get a minimum of $25 in monthly fees.

To re-iterate, as most everyone else has stated, the so-called leads were all bogus. Every single customer I met with stated that the telemarketers blurted out their spiel, without giving them a chance to say anything. Every single customer stated that no one confirmed the supposed appointments.

I should also say that probably 90% of the so called leads were no shows. Only a handful of the leads were actual store fronts, the majority of them, the ones that actually were there when dropped in for my appointment (appointment that was unbeknownst to them) were extremely small time business owners with only a handful of customers, to which it would be a total waste of their money to get the machines, due to their exceedingly small customer base, which were primarily I found to be their family, friends and neighbors.

Nearly all of the fees are negotiable, the only thing that is not, is that there will either be an annual fee OR a monthly fee OR both, but at least one of them... Yikes, I hope that made sense to anyone other than myself...

Any adjustments to fees would result in lower commissions, all the way to minimum commissions.

Anyways, now to my actual complaints:

I had sold approximately 10 systems. Some were reprograms, some were actual new machines in addition to the processing services.

All told, by the commission calculation sheet they gave me with the 2 big binders, I should have been given around $4,000.00, aside from the $95 application fee...

To this date, they've only given me close to $2,000.00

One of my first customers was hit by their wacky fees, which as you've probably read in some of the other rip off reports, transtech likes to do. So that customer obviously dropped transtech and went back to her previous processor.

So due to that, transtech decided they wouldn't pay me my full commission for that customer.

I apologize if my thoughts are becoming erratic, as I'm remembering several things that transtech has screwed me on all...

Ahem, next, with each paycheck, I kept calling in to Korrey Walker, my "Team Leader" and would ask why I didn't get the expected amounts???

I didn't get my $95 application fees, in addition to other commissions for some of my customers.

I should say that good ol' Roger had said that when we sign up a customer, we just need a voided check from whichever bank account the customer would like to have the fees auto-debited from.

So, now transtech is trying to say that in order to get our $95 application fee, which I would like to point out is listed with all the other fees, we had to have the customer write the check out for $95, instead of it being a voided check.

Having an IQ above 4 AND coming from the banking industry, I understand that by the customer signing the forms and giving transtech a voided check (actually all that's needed technically is the checking account #) the customer by so doing authorizes transtech to take out the listed fees. As the application fee is listed amongst the other fees, the customer thereby authorizes transtech to take that out as well.

And one more thing of beauty that these clowns tried doing:

I met with a small business owner, who did auto repairs in his spare time. He currently did not accept credit cards, as he only had about 20 customers; most of which were as previously stated, family, friends or just people from around his neighborhood. I gave the company spiel about how if he were able to take more varied forms of payment, he could broaden his customer base. He was kind of on the fence about it, so I was like, you know what, I'm not going to force you into doing something you don't want to do. So I called Korrey, who of course wanted to talk to the guy, ended up harassing the guy into saying he'd do it.

So Korrey told the guy, we'd give him the "special rate", which, of course was our standard rate of 1.72% and $0.25 transaction fee. The guy said he'd try it out for the 60 day trial period. So when I got back on the phone with Korrey, he told me to put the rate down on the application (as we actually wrote in the cc rate and transaction fee) 3.50% and $0.50 for transaction fee... I basically told him to eat a dick... Actually, that was my exact words, come to think of it...

So in closing, as you've already read from the other postings, transtech not only doesn't do what it says, it lies to its employees and customers.

It states that they will buy customers out of their leases, while failing to state they only pay for about $250-$300 of a lease, after that, the customer pays the rest.

They fail to state to the customer that the 60 day "free trial" is not only NOT FREE, (you pay for what you use), but if you purchase a machine from them, you're S.O.L. And have to continue paying for that, regardless if you stop their processing.

So the bottom line is they are a bunch of lying, cheating douchebags, do not at all costs do not deal with them, as an employee or a customer. Take it from me and all the other people who've posted complaints. Thank you.

P.S. As an added "bonus", I asked a lawyer buddy about how I could take them to court about the excess money they still owe me. He stated that as I live in michigan, and they're in texas, I would have to travel down to texas and file the suit in whatever district carrolton is in, in order for the suit to be of any use. If I file it here, and win, since they don't have any property in michigan, there's no way for the michigan courts to garnish monies from them. So, basically, I'm S.O.L... Awesome!
