A too glib older "kid" came to my door pitching magazines for our troops in Iraq. Naturally, he was approaching a goal in his sales. He suggested magazines of interest to males and likely soldiers. And, of course, a two year subscription would be a better value. He was very practiced and polite. That was July.
About a week ago (mid Oct) I received a call confirming my order and pitching additional materials for my perusal. I declined and stated my understanding that the magazine I ordered was going overseas. There was a hasty "Thank you very much" and a click. I think the call was from National Publisher's Exchange, but I can't be sure.
Saturday I received my first issue of Maxim Magazine. An inquiry to them referred me to National Publisher's Exchange where, hopefully, I can cancel without too many more issues clogging the mail. Sorry soldiers. Seemed like a good idea.
