I received a brown envelope with a letter and check in it stating i had won $68.000. The sweepstakes stated the sweepstakes was on monday sept. 20th 2007. Sept. 20th 2007 was on a thrusday.
My wife and i went to a lawyers office to get advice about this letterand check, the receptionists gave us the # to the better business bureau and told us to go by the sherriff's dept. To see if there have been any reported scams like this.
The officer called the # and got a message. He then recalled the # and was instructed to deposit the check in a checking account and then recall with info. About the account. We didn't do either. When we got home i looked the bank up on the internet and found where the branch is supposed to be but not the same adress and phonenumber that's on the check.
My wife typed in the following: north american shoppers sweepstakes and found out that it is a SCAM. PEOPLE THAT COMMIT CRIMES LIKE THIS TO SHOULD BE IN PRISON...
