My roommate and I went to The Apartment People to look for a new apartment. The one we were in was too expensive. We were paying $1450/month for a two bedroom. When we made our appointment with this company we both went. The agent asked us what our price range was and we told him that we could afford no more than $1200/month.
When it came time for him to drive around and show us apartments, he made a list of 5 or 6 and drove us to each one. For each one we asked the price and it was never any less than 1500/month. Not to mention later on he told us how he always aims for the more expensive apartments because he gets a percentage of the first month's rent.
After checking out a few apartments, we started to ask the agent questions about them. Most were general, such as "are there on site laundry facilities?" He wasn't able to answer a single one of them.
Finally he drove us back to the offices and said: "I'm sorry I couldn't show you the rest of the apartments you wanted to see..." Hello? We didn't even get to see a single apartment we wanted to see. He only showed us the apartments that HE wanted us to see. I will not recommend them to anybody who does not want to waste an entire afternoon looking at apartments that they can't afford, and learn nothing about them.
Oh, and one more thing, they don't even have floor plans of the places.
