I recieved an online moving quote for a move from Nashville, TN to the Washington D.C. Area from multiple companies and chose Quick Trip because of their low price.

I scheduled a move on August 7 with a moving date of August 23. I received a call on August 20th confirming the pick up date of August 23rd around noon. I was told that $200 was charged to my card for deposit and the rest would be due when they delivered my belongings to D.C. Up to this point everything seemed to be in alignment with my expectations.

The movers arrived 5 hours after discussed on the phone and told me I needed 60% of the funds before moving my things. Considering my discussion on the phone with the manager I did not have cash money on me and asked to speak with the manager. He was contacted and was extremely rude and crass. The contract did not mention 60% due at time of pickup and reflected only the $200 deposit. After spending 15 minutes on the phone and verbalizing my disatisfaction we agreed to me paying the remaining balance in full by cash money upon arrival.

I was told it would take 5-7 days to deliver my pickup but to list the first available date. I was called August 25th and told the driver was 45 minutes from my home. This was problematic because I was still in Nashville and regardless it is customary to give at least 24 hour notice. I called the manager/owner and was told he would charge me $750 for them to redeliver my items. Again, he was rude, curt and not ammenable to any reasonable solutions. I discussed the difficulty getting over 1000 from an ATM and that no banks would be open on a Sunday. He continued to threaten to charge $750 if he could not deliver the "goods".

I eventually Western Unioned the funds to a friend in the area and paid cash money to be done with the company. I have moved multiple times and this company was unorganized and their manager was rude, condescending and lacked customer service and professionalism skills. I would skip utilizing this company and check with the BBB prior to hiring a moving company. As they say there are no mistakes only learning opportunities. I learned I will never use this company again and will always check with the BBB before entrusting my business to a moving company.
