Check scam

I received a letter stating that I had won a contest from the North American Utilities draw held in April. The letter said that my name was selected through a computer ballot system containing information from the telephone and utility bills. There is a check enclosed for the amount of $2,980.00. It says for me to contact a Mrs. Sandra Myers or Mr. David Hamilton at 306-351-3946 to finalize.

Thank goodness I got online to check out this company and found others had reported this scam. There were also two other numbers at the bottom of the letter. 306-351-4517 and 306-351-4397.

I hope noone else falls for this! Thank God I had sense enough to check it out first! The envelope is also blank with no return address.
