I began working for this man and his little 5 man and a woman company and noticed that he did do good work for these design companiesin North florida. He gave me a brief overview of what they did and what was expected if he hired me on. Not only did I show him that I could do the work but was actually interested in the work and I liked to see how the finished product of home installation by working with designers like Sisler & Johnston, Ruttenburg homes, etc. But one thing that stuck out like a sore thumb I was the only black person that ever worked for him because I looked at all his pictures in his office and there were no black people in any of them NONE! And hie lead guy Eric who's been with him from the beginning (watch him though if you're a brother) He's the guy who'll talk a good one but when you got your back turned dump all over you, then smile in your face. Then talk trash about the boss then
kiss up then lie to cover his rear saw him do it too
many times. Back to Bucky he charges his clients way more than he should pocket our over time pay us salary, then eric claims he talks to bucky then a day or too and give us a couple bucks, then what makes it so bad, is that you got 5 to 6 latinos, two white guys, then me the only black guy in a way I feel good to be the first. He told me that work started at 7:30 that was a lie! But it was always directed to me but everyone else could take there time I admit that I lived closer but then he hired aaron the first white person who was more hurt to the crew than help. You had to tell him show him then he still didn't do it and if he did it had to be re-done.
I seen this younger black guy apply from my wifes apt. Complex, of course he didn't get hired but aaron
did. And to add to it they spoke more spanish than english I know it's there native tongue but at the same time have respect for others so that no one (me) should be made comfortable like when you're mad then rightfully adjust your language to make your feelings clear. Then you had big carlos can't speak much english but knows enough to call me a monkey? But here's my situation.
I just got married got 6 kids to support and just coming off being injured and I apply to his company get hired already i'm being told that we're like family then you got victor the clown of the company always got jokes and talks slick when not around customers that was one good thing about him and some times he could be real
but then he's sarcastic, his addition to the we're like family thing was yeah so everyone else is out numbered? What did that mean?
Statements like that is what causes problems off top, then carlos puts words together but his accent is still strong but you can sense what he means luckily i know a little and understand some. But he had to be watched too. Like I said I needed a job and I was misled
to believe that this was a good place to work for but found out otherwise. Bucky has more mood swings than anyone i've ever met I sensed his uncomfort when working with me but he put his dislike aside long enough to tolerate me he did talk to me some time and act like he could handle working with because I did good work and
I can meet his needs at the time he took me to lunch and all but he had a way of talking trash that made me feel sorry that I met him and spoke it he explained to me that his wifes car was tolen by some black kids and they were never caught or convicted which bothers him because they used up the disposable camera and left it I see he's angry but don't put it on me. Then ther's some
clients that along with him treat you like trash you know the upper class who thinks they're close to god just because they kised enough but to get there I've been here for a while and I've truly truly seen the hate for blacks in florida, especially from the upper
class. But in bucky's case he loves it and it even goes for his choice of music and talk radio. Now back to me I needed this job to the point that even when my truck went down I walked because my wife needed to the van to go to work. So that's 4.5 miles to and from then going to work I know that's my problem, and he even loaned me a bike for a moment but once again made me regret it. Stuck between a rock and a hard place I kept getting to work and putting my daughter's on the bus made me late because of that he let me go a week after my 90 days because of that then he try to play me as being angry or upset when he let me go. But to sum it all up he hired this other guy john who thought he could talk to me
any other way the title he claimed wasn't sent out in any kind of memo. And the way he addressed me aside from anyone else and immediately I informed him that I won't tolerated it, now here's the joke because he's going in the military he's gung-ho way before his time, which may hinder his entrance because if you got a record that might stop a person from getting in.
Then not to mention one of eric's friends gets hired (latino) john trains him to replace one of the other guys then i'm let go just for me being late and everyone else did the same and bucky yelled at them, but eric always mentioned that if I didn't liked what they said that I could quit and one time or two that I could quit and I called my wife to come and get me.
