Sander's Jewelers
Is a ripoff fraud

Sander's Jewelers; fraudulently sold jewerly / returned bad product / no credit / threatened us with harrassment because we wanted the money or the jewlery...

12/1/96 While visiting an ill relative in Maryland, my new husband (home from Japan on emergency leave from the Marine Corps due to his mother's stroke) purchased 2 platinum rings, one with 7 daimonds, from the Annapolis Harbour Center store (no longer in business) the diamond ring to be my Christmas Gift.

The sales clerk told us that the platinum was the most scratch-free metal and that if we had any problems we could always return it by mail to the store for repair or replacement.

On 12/25/96 I opened my new ring, it had a chip missing under one of the diamonds and the sizing left the ring squared off and uncomfortable to wear.

The first day the store was opened after the holiday I phoned to say I was upset that the ring was in such awful condition. The sales clerk said to please wait until mid-Jaunuary to return the ring for repairs due to mail theft during the holiday mail season.

I returned the ring by Express mail on 1/13/97 for a fee of $10.75.

On 1/29/97 I received the same ring back with no corrections, no repairs. I phoned to ask why it hadn't been repaired and was told that it had been repaired.

On 1/30/97 I returned the ring a second time with a letter explaining that we had lost confience in the company and no longer wanted to do business with them and to credit our charge account.

On April 3,1997 Mr. Larry Sanders sent me a latter saying that sales person wqas no longer with the comapny and that the receipt clearly showed that we could only get a store credit if returned after ten days... Maryland State consumer law says that all storee policies are null and void if the returned item was returned because of a defect which IT WAS!

On April 9,1997 Mrs. Needham of Credit Card Sevices, US Bank of Oregon sent me a letter and asked me to call her regarding our account. I told her i would pay for the one ring but that the diamond ring had been returned and showed her the receipt.

On April 14,1997 I received another letter saying that I was responsible for the bill because of the statement on the receipt (which by Maryland State Law was now null and void) The understood that we would not be paying them and told us they wrote off the debt.

Sept 1998 I went to a jeweler to have my husband's platinum ring (paid $775 for it) The appraisal came back at $75!!! CROOKS!

On 12/1/99 We discovered that US Bank of Oregon SOLD the debt to some other company (FBS SERVICES), we faxed them the info and our statement that we would not pay for something we did not own and to please take us to court. They said they would write it off.

In May we were in the last days of Escrow on our home when the lender found several credit hits (all pertaining to this ring). It became clear that a 3rd company Triadvantage Services had aquired the debt. It became a "condition of purchase" that we had to pay for this ring before our loan would fund... We were forced to pay for the ring that we did not own.

On 6/3/02 I faxed a letter to our Triadvantage representative (nice man for a credit guy) he reduced the debt to 25% of the money due because he saw that we needed to close escrow AND that Sanders were crooks!

9/8/01 After we moved, unpacked and were settled in, I wrote to Sanders asking for my ring since the debt had been paid. I thought a crappy ring paid in full was better than nothing PAID IN FULL!

9/15/01 I received a VERY NASTY letter from Mr. Sanders in which I was informed (for the fisrt time) that they scraped the ring and a credit of $770. Was issued (not to me or the credit card) company) but as a store credit in a State in whcih I do not live, with NO notice.

So, this company was paid $4,016.25 by US Bank of Oregon in 1996, $770.00 in scrap metal money in 1997, they still had the 7 diamonds and all I got was a lousey $75 men's platinum ring, but if we sent them an ADDITIONAL $2,280. We could still do business...

1/4/02 After things calmed down from Sept 11th and Christmas was over, I wrote to Mr. Sanders again and faxed it to him, clarifying some misinformation in his letter and further requesting either a refund the amount paid through escrow or the ring.

On Jan 15 I received a VERY NASTY letter from Mr. Sanders claiming I was aware of a some cheap store credit and that my writing skills were less than adequate for his taste. That his was tiring of me and my problems and that if I write again he would consider it harassment of him.

What a cheap un-American unprofessional thing to do to a nice Marine Corps Family!
