I tried it out. I decided by 3/8/07 that i could not use this service because it was screwing up my satellite Tv updates. Every tv needs to have an update with a phone line everyday at 4am. Which i couldnt not do because this service only allows you to use only one phone line which needs to be hooked up to your computer. The time i had the service i was charged from my satellite company because they couldnt update. I called 3/8/07 and talked to a rep named Jay who understand what was going on And was happy to cancel my service. But because i wanted to keep my number (Which was an AT&T number to begin with; 916-) he said i would have to keep the service open until AT&T got my service back up and running which i did the same day (3/8/07)
Jay stated to me that he would put in an extention so that i would get my intial 39.94 back which is the money back guarentee if it passes my trial date do to the fact that there is a waiting period to transfer the number back. I totally believed Jay. I contacted AT&T and set up my service, my at&t rep told me that it would take 7 buisness days or so for the transfer to go through. I called Vonage back after i talked to at&t 3/8/07 to let them know that my service would be back in 7 to 10 buisness days so they could close out my acct and cancel so id recieve my money back and not get charged. AT&T completed this on 3/23/07 at 12pm.
I got my credit card bill to find out that 3/17/07 vonage charge me again for service of 28.43 which was not authorized. I contacted vonage to say that i was charged 28.43 which i should have been and the at&t transfer went through and clear out my acct with vonage which i was promised of an extention do to the fact i called twice to let them know what was going on and was assured there would be no problem. The lady i talked to her name was love was rude and said that she couldnt help me. That my trial ended and they had to charge me again and if i cancelled id have to pay a cancelation fee as well.
I told her my story and that i talked to the Rep Jay and another rep at vonage who assured me that he extended my trial so that i could get my money back because i called 3/8/07 twice regarding my status of my cancelation and I would not be charged. But i was charged anyways and they did not cancel my acct. I asked numerous times to talk to a manger and i was put on hold for a hour. I called back again and the rep would not let me to talk to a manger regarding fixing this issue. I can understand that if i never called at all then id be charged and not get my money back but i called within the trial period to cancel and i had to wait for the transfer of my number which i have no control when it takes place. But i called to make them aware of the situation and at&t's time frame. All i want is my money back. Im getting ripped off. Now there still charging me and i canceled my account back in march
