Improper screening of members, allows scams to florish Ripoff

I was a member for over a month. Singlesnet has a questionaire which determines your preferences in a prospective date. I was continually sent persons as "matches" that were outside my race.
I had requested that I only get persons of my own race. Many of these were persons from "KELLER, VIRGINIA". First, "Keller" is a very small community on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. It has less than 200 persons living there. There were no less than 15 persons on Singlesnet who claimed to be from "Keller".

The pictures in the profiles from "Keller" were studio quality photographs of models who do not live in Keller. Most of these "women" all state that they have had no significant relationships prior to joining the Singlesnet. After responding to several of these "women" it was found that they were actually in Nigeria. Also, they always looked very much younger than the ages they had listed.

They each had a "story" of some kind where they needed money sent to them to help them out of different "situations". It was found, after a search on the Internet that some of the personal e-Mail addresses sent to me were actually males in Nigeria and other areas trying to trade phoney "love" and "companionship" offers for money sent by unknowing lonely male Singlesnet subscribers. This type of phoney advertisement profile, complete with phoney pictures of beautiful model's pictures were also found listed as from "Arlington, VA." and I had one listed in my hometown.

There were also Women's ads, that after you contacted them, they would give you a "hotmail" type address that gave you links to porn sites.

I complained via Singlesnet e-Mail address several times and heard nothing from them. I tried to call in person to complain but only got "muszak" and was never connected with a live human being. Shortly after "blocking" a number of these so called "one to one" matches, it seemed like the company was doing this to me on purpose. They claim to monitor ALL communications (e-Mails) between members for content. This could potentially open one up for "data mining" from these communications with persons sharing sensitive information about themselves while communicating with each other. I shared my intentions of cancelling my membership after only one month with an e-Mailing on the site and the phoney e-Mails from the porn scammers and Nigerian males started to pour in.

I have "saved" many of the communications and other evidence on my computer if it's needed for the future. There is no question if they "monitor" e-Mails for content that they should be aware, if not even participating in these scams themselves.

I think an investigation is in order here. My "spam" filter on Yahoo has picked up with a number of ads and offers from sites I never visited about porn after I tried to contact the phoney ads. They are aware that these things are occuring because, 1.) they monitor the communications between members and 2.) They were given a "heads up" by me at least twice by e-Mail to the site's headquarters. I heard nothing except the "robot response" that they had gotten my e-Mails.

There are other beefs that I have about the way they run their site, but I'm keeping them to myself for right now. I will unveil them if I have further trouble. I have resigned and never want to do any business or have any contact with Singlesnet.com
I advise anyone who has "joined" their site, to be "on the lookout".:-)
