It all began in October with an unsollicited email from a company called Internet Speedway.com. The information must have sounded really good because it prompted me to allow them to charge my credit card for $9.95 to look at their program.
When I recieved the package i was preparing for a 2 week vacation and did not even open it. While on vacation I was contaced by phone wanting to tell me more about Internet Speedway. I explained I was on vacation and they could contact me later.
After vacation ended, I was contacted by a guy with a 20min spiel on the business involving an internet store and some other services etc.; with an initial investment of around $5000.00. I said NO and thought that was the end of it. (I still had not had tome to examine the contents of the package).
Actually threw the package away unopened after I thought I knew what it was about.
Next thing I know my credit card is loaded with charges from this outfit!!! When I contacted them, November 24th, Tina told me that the previous charges could not be removed, leaving me with the understanding that no further charges would occur.
Angry over losing any money in this way but too busy to fight further, I decided to cut my losses and move on. My husband pays the bills so I did not realize the charges were continuing on until my husband asked me about a charge on the last bill.
These charges made in November and December and now again in Jaunuary for an even larger sum!!! Almost $300.00 in charges for absolutely NOTHING!!! Needles to say I contacted the company again. This young male thing informed me again that these charges could not be removed.
After ripping him a new one (verbally speaking), I spoke to his supposed supervisor who THEN informe me that I had gone past the 30-day free trial and would be charged for 5 months for a total of $349.00!! The rude, patronizing little prick argued with everything I said. Laughing and gloating over my frustration.
Max went on to deny that Tina had ever said there would be no further charges. Since I do not have the luxury of recording phone conversations or the skills to fight practiced crooks, I really do not know what all Tina said or didn't say on November 24th! I do know for certain that whatever she said was designed to deceive me into thinking there would be no futher charges.
Now I know how Internet Speedway conducts it's busines using deceit, limited information, SPAM and hype to trick it's unsuspecting prey! Watch out for this one..inTERNET SPEEDWAY!!
