I went to an auction around 2 months ago in athens held by tri-state auctioneers. They have one about every 3 to 4 months and i have been to several buying stuff and selling also. At this particular auction i bought a 1995 voldo 850 sedan.
At the beginning of the auctioning of the vehicles, the owner/auctioneer told everyone that if there was anything wrong with any vehicle they would say so. After i bought it, i went up to the owners son, and asked him who had the keys to the volvo. His response was, "why, did you buy it?" i told him yes and he said, "do you know whats wrong with it?"
I told him there shouldnt be anything wrong with it because his dad said if there was anything wrong with any of them, they would tell the buyers. He told me it had a blown head gasket. The strange thing is that the owner and mostly everyone that worked for the company knew the owner of the car, and one employee had taken the key home with her and conviently forgot to bring it back the day of the sale.
So after finding that out, i am SURE everyone knew what was wrong with the car. I just wish i would have found out before paying for it. I have emailed the owner and no reply and left two messages on the answering machine with no reply, so i am going to see if i can take legal action. I paid 950 for the car and its going to cost 1500 to fix it
