Great Expectations - Think Twice Before Signing Up!!!

The day that I signed up, Jessica, the representative I dealt with at the Rocky Hill, CT office used extreme high pressure tactics including showing me photos of men who no way resemble what they really offer. This is deceptive/misleading. I was told if I didn't sign up that day, that I would have to pay much higher fees if I decided to sign up at a later date therfore believe I signed the contract under duress.

She came in and out of the office several times trying to make me believe that I was getting a bargain. I was also told you will meet somebody in no time, as you're very attractive and have a lot to offer.

I believe I gave Great Expectations a fair trial period with no results. Months later I have had two dates. I'm hardly getting either value for money here nor am I getting what I believed I was paying for when I signed up.

One of these dates turned out to something wrong with his arms and the other had an order of protection filed against him according to the CT judicial website. GE claim to do a thorough background check on it's clients. Obviously this is not the truth. So far, any of the people that I might be interested in have their accounts frozen or expired and are therefore unavailable.

When I expressed interest in a man in a center other than Hartford (Rocky Hill), I was told I would have to cough up even more money in order to contact him and that a fee of $2,851.70 and monthly fees of $28 was not enough! I was led to believe upon signing up, that I would have access to a huge database of members but this is clearly not the truth. The turnover of new faces is very small. I was not given immediate access to the website once having paid.

I have just received a copy of my credit report. On it, it shows that there was an inquiry made on behalf of Great Expectations. This was done without my knowledge. I now believe the fee that I was charged was based on my credit score which is excellent.

GE have clearly misrepresented themselves and deliberately mislead me.

If anybody wonders how foolish I was, I agree but I had recently come out of hospital having spent a week at MidState Hospital for Major Depressive disorder. I was on medication (Citalopram and Trazodone) which is extremely strong and which no doubt clouded my better judgment.

I find it totally disheartening to read the negative reviews about Great Expectations on the Internet and wonder how they live with themselves ripping people off in this manner. I find it particularly sad that you do this to pensioners also that are obviously living on a limited income. There is even a complaint online from a former GE employee admitting how they rip people off. I am amazed that they are allowed to continue in business as all they do is take people's money and do nothing for them in return.

I'm putting a notice in the window of my car warning people against signing up with Great Expectations. All they do is take advantage of vulnerable, lonely people!
