I've won! I wrote back in March with similar problems everyone is having. Charging for so-called Land-line Charges, late bills. After dealing with amazingly inane and pathetic employees of WorldCom I decided to take the matter to a higher authority. I wrote to the California State Attorney General, The PUC.
I called and wrote to the local TV Stations. It was a pain but I did it and every time I had a dispute with WorldCom I would write them my response and cc it to all of the above. Whenever they called, I refused to talk to them and told them that I don't talk legal matters over the phone only through letters. After almost 4 months they decided to deal with me (I do believe it was pressure from the PUC and Attorney General).
They have taken the charges off my bill and told me they accidentally gave me a wrong cell phone number (what a crock). Please, don't give up. Start writing letters to your Attorney General and to the PUC! In California the State Attorney General and the California PUC announced an $8.5 million settlement with MCI WorldCom over slamming, cramming unfair business & practices. I also just read in today's paper that WorldCom Wireless will not be signing up new Wireless customers. They are going downhill!!!
