We have been with direct tv for about 3 years. We had high definition installed in 2005 and added another tv high definition in january. We are paying for a service and expect all items to be available as per our contract. We have had to call direct tv almost monthly to rectify problems and lack of service. All the high definition stations will not come in and with many service calls they fix the problem only temprarily, usually lasts just a few days.

They are not providing all the services we contracted for. Our latest call to direct tv was a conference which included a customer service rep., our local tv station investigative reporter and myself. We asked to cancel our service but they insisted we will have to pay a fee which would be determined later. That was not acceptable to us and after more conversation their rep. Said that she would have one of their supervisors would contact us within 24to48 hours. That was a week ago. Still not getting all the services we are paying for. This organization seems to do whatever it wants to do and i am thouroghly fed up with their rhetoric and bad service. Hopefully this will enlighten any other person thinking of getting direct tv in their home.

We are going to sign up with our local cable system and will be cancelling direct tv service and will deal with them and their cancellation costs. Based on consumer protection laws we don't have to pay for service not rendered. Thank you for allowing me to explain my position.
