Moving Company Ripoff! Not to be trusted dishonest fraudulent!

The week of June 12, I called BK's Moving and Storage Company to see if they could have someone come out to my house to give me a free estimate of the things I wanted to move back to Va.

On June 17th, Keeb Yohannes came out and walked around with me to see the furniture, car, and items, boxes I wanted moved. He gave me a dark navy folder with his business card inside and said he would get back the free estimate to me through my email address.

I waited and waited and by June 22nd, I called their toll free number and Keeb said that Dave would be emailing me the information.

I finally received the quote and called back to speak with Dave about taking out the car and adding on another 500 lbs.

After waiting, Keeb decided to go on-line and readjusted the quote to: $2327.00 for 3000 lbs. Dave called me back later that afternoon to confirm I wanted to go with his Company. He assured me that if they were able to pick up my things by June 25th, there would be no problem getting my things to Richmond, Va. Between July 7-10. Dave assured me that his Company would be able to deliver on those dates. I repeated it to him and he said "no problem"!

Deciding to go with this Company because of his word, I gave him my credit card number for the $275.00 deposit on the phone.

Dave scheduled the movers to come pick up my things at 7am on June 25th, Sunday. June 25th, Sunday morning, a large moving truck came up to the door representing BK's Moving and Storage. They 3 men walked around the house to see what items I needed wrapped up and boxes because many of the furniture and items were antique and fragile. The men decided that I needed to have them wrap my furniture up really well.

The workers also called another truck to bring more wardrobe boxes. The men worked from 7:45am-1:45pm. They charged me: $2,400.00 for all the packing $1,500.00 for BK's Moving and Storage.

Jose said that someone from BK's Moving and Storage would give me a call in the next few days with the "exact weight" of all my things.

I called the toll-free number Tuesday, June 27th and asked for the exact weight of my things. Dave assured me that Keeb would have that information and that he would call me back. I waited another few days and called back again. Dave reassured me again that Keeb would contact me with that information. I called again on June 30th and Dave even wrote down my cellphone number assuring me that Keeb would have that information for me. I kept calling and leaving messages after hours on their answering machine and no one called me back.

On July 7th, I called the toll-free number saying that I was in Richmond, Va. Waiting to see when my things would be arriving. I left another voice message saying that Dave assured me that my delivery would arrive between July 7-10.

On July 11th, I call again only to have Dave tell me that Keeb would contact me with the information about the "exact weight" of my things. I asked why I was not notified the weight and cost all this time! I was only told again by Dave that Keeb would get back with me with this information.

That late afternoon, I finally called again and Dave finally told me that my weight was well over 7000lbs and I would owe the balance of $3,963.00 upon delivery.

I was overwelmed and shocked! I became speechless and wanted to know why I wasn't notified until NOW about this? Then Dave said my things would arrive in 5-7 business days.

July 18th came around and I called asking to speak to Dave or Keeb. Ben said that Keeb was off and Dave would not be in until 11am. Ben told me that he would call me back with the status of my Job No: W104866. He would call me right back.

An hour went by and I called back. Jack said that Ben steped out to go to the warehouse and would be back in. 30 minutes.

I kept getting the run around, call back, Ben or Dave will call you back when they get in.

I waited till the late afternoon and called again. Dave answered and I asked him where my things were. He said that there was so problem and my things were in TX. He had another Moving Co. Take my things and they decided to drop my stuff off in TX. I told Dave that since my things were in TX, that they could drop my things off to my brother's house since he lived in TX. Dave, asked why I didn't want my things in Va. I said to drop it off to my brother's house in TX. Dave evaded the issue saying that I had to talk to Ben when he came back and he would have all that information I wanted.

Then Dave wanted to know how I planned on paying the balance of:$3,963. Oo. He was quite concerned about how I plan on paying it.

I reminded Dave that the reason I was very upset was that no one called me a few days after picking up my things to give me the "exact weight estimate". I also reminded Dave that he assured me that there would be "no problem" getting my things to arrive between July 7-10. My children were driving from out-of-state to be there when the movers arrived to help me unload.

I then told Dave that I knew my things were still in Ca., and he never even started the move because he was hold my things as "hostage" and wouldn't give it to me until I paid the balance of $3,963.00.

I then asked Dave why he never faxed over the papers of the "exact weight" he said he would fax me. I then asked to speak to his supervisor or owner. He said: "if you have a problem with your computer, you don't call Bill Gates, do you? If you have a problem with this move, you speak to me. So I said I am speaking to you but you aren't listening.

Then Dave said that my things would arrive in 7 business days from now. (July 18th) He would give me a discount by Friday because he could not get my things to Va.in the 21 days as on contract. He kept apologizing to me...

Well, I cannot accept this mental anquish this Company has caused me.

They have lied to me. This is ridiculous to make me pay another $3,963.00 after already paying:
$275.00 - deposit
$2,400.00 - packers
$1,500.00 - pick up

I want justice and I don't want to see anyone else having to go through what I went through. I don't want BK's Moving and Storage RIPPING off anymore people!
