All My Sons Moving And Storage
All My Sons, ripoff, lost furniture, damaged items

Under no circumstances ever use all my sons moving!

Here is a timeline of the move from Raleigh, NC to Arlington, TX.

-Early May

Estimator from the Raleigh, NC All My Sons office comes out to give an estimate, speaks to my wife. He then returns at my request as their are some items on the list that need to be removed from the estimate. Estimate comes back at approx. $8700 which I feel is high. He says it is due to they do not have any trucks and will have to contract out to another mover, Bekins. A few days later he calls back and says that they have a All My Sons truck that is available out of the West Palm Beach Florida location so the bill will be approx. $5700. The estimator is very cordial and professional.

-Approx. May 16

I take the deposit of $2000 to the local All My Sons office and sign the paperwork. Movers slated to be at our house on May 24th to pack and the 25th to load up on the truck.

-May 23rd

Driver, Robbie, calls to say he will be at the house by 8:30 AM to begin packing

-May 24th

Robbie finally shows up just before 11 AM
We have an antique grandfather clock from Germany which I had asked to, and agreed to pay an extra $250, have crated. Ask Robbie multiple times when the crate building company will be there and he says "later". During the packing process notice they are only putting cellophane wrap around sofas and such instead of blankets and then cellophane, my requests to do so go unheeded.

-May 25th

Robbie says he will be at the house by 8:30 AM to finish up, like the day before shows up late, this time at approx. 10:30 AM.
~Approx. 12 noon I ask when the crate building company will be there to crate the grandfather clock. Robbie says he will need to call them and then proceeds to take a phone book off into another room and begin looking for, you guessed it! A company to come crate up the grandfather clock!
~Approx. 12:30 I leave the house to run some errands, return in just under and hour and notice the grandfather clock is missing. Ask Robbie where it is at and he says it has been loaded. I ask how is it possible for the crate building company to have gotten there, made a crate, packed and loaded it in under an hour. He brushes me off. Finally after much insistence he admits he "made a crate" out of cardboard. I am to say the least INCENSED! Call his boss and he says that is a CRATE? An argument ensues to which I tell them if it is damaged they will pay full damages above and beyond any insurance and that I will not pay $250 for cardboard crating. What is aggrevating is that Robbie tried to slip it under my nose while I left for an hour!
~Finish loading and guess what? Truck does not have enough room for all our belongings, Robbie says they will get another truck and all will be fine. He never indicates in any way whatsoever that what this means is that the items that would not fit on the semi-trailer are going to be stored in their warehouse and then shipped later.
~Robbie asks if my son (19 years old) would like to earn some money when they arrive in Texas by helping them unload. He says yes.
~Truck leaves, Robbie says will be there 05/28

-May 28th

~I call Robbie, no answer, finally find out that they are not going to arrive until June 1
~June 1, no Robbie, call again, says tomorrow the 2nd. Finally shows up.

-June 2nd

~Truck finally arrives
~Robbie comes inside and asks for a check for just over $8700! HUH? My invoice states specifically that what is owed is just over $5600 and that the total of just under $8000 is the MAXIMUM CHARGE! Again, arguments ensue, my wife copies the invoice (this is the ONLY ONE signed by us) and faxes it to Robbie's office in West Palm Beach. They were still attempting to charge the $250 for the grandfather clock crating which was not done as well as insurance. Finally resolve and pay them $5750
~Wife notices some small tears on the back of a couch, shows to Robbie to which he is totally indifferent. Says simply "file a claim" and blows her off.
~End of day and still wondering where our antique Coke machine, my two tool boxes, and a ton of other belongings are..
~Done unloading the truck... NOW Robbie says that the rest of our stuff will be delivered later! WHAT? You wait until the end of the day to tell us this??? Arguments ensue, numerous phone calls to West Palm Beach office. Told they will "... Do their best to get it to us within the next 3-5 weeks". Veins beginning to bulge at this point.
~My son goes to Robbie to get paid, $80, for his work. Not good news, Robbie has no money. No ATM card to go get cash. Son is on the verge of cleaning Robbie's clock. We block in Robbies truck telling him that he would not unload until we paid him and by God he was not leaving until my son was paid. Call West Palm Beach office, on first name basis with John there by now. John agrees to credit my credit card $80, I will then pay Ross myself and Robbie will be back at our house by 12 Noon the next day. Robbie finally shows up just before 2 PM. Of course the $80 John said would be credited never was.

-Numerous calls between June 2nd and June 24th

~Robbie finally arrives, albeit two days later than he said he would, with the rest of our belongings.
~John calls just before Robbie arrives to get me updated, that is good. Agrees to refund $250 for the troubles, remember though that we overpaid while being held hostage to begin with. I do not argue, thankful for the new found cash.
~Inventory of items indicates NUMEROUS items missing such as tools, boxes of personal items, tables, 6ft X 8ft rug, and the list goes on.

When if ever will the missing items turn up? Where are they?

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST SERVICE EVER!!! I would not be surprised if some of these folks had side businesses selling customers "missing items" somewhere!
