I changed my local phone service to MCI. During this time, I was told that I had 30 days to decide if I liked the service, and if I didn't, I could cancel it without paying. They also told me that I would be receiving a certificate in the mail that will cover my first month's bill.
This seemed strange b/c if the first month was free, why would I receive a certificate? I tried them and after 3 weeks I called to cancel my service and went back to my previous phone company. When the certificate came I sent it with the first months bill, that was supposed to be paid for.
MCI called and told me that I owed them. I asked why when I didnt even keep their service over one month. The supervisor said taxes were not included. I told him that taxes didnt come up to $50.
Now, I keep getting phone calls and bills from MCI. Why should I have to pay for something that they had already paid for. They recently called and told me that this will be reported to the credit bureau.
