Discounted Telecommunications added an $8.50 monthly charge to my telephone bill for directory assistance (Feb). When I phoned their customer service number, the representative told my the charge was added because I (or someone at that number) had requested this service, but she/the company had no records of when this was requested or used.
I told her no one had requested or used the service and I wanted the charge removed. She suggested that someone in the household must have used it and I just didn't know about it. I told her the phone number was a DEDICATED fax line and I wanted her manager on the phone now. She then replied that she could have the charge removed.
THe next month, March, there appeared on my business phone bill (a different number) a charge from Discounted Telecommunications the same $8.50 charge. I again called and was able to have the charge removed, but this seems to be how they do business.
Their website consists of just a few pages with very little information and no other contact information or names of owner, managers or other representative.
