Approximately 2 weeks ago a message was on my answering machine. It stated something was going on of which I was not aware. When I called, a man tersely stated I owed $13000. I hung up stating I couldn't discuss whatever this was. The following day another message was on the answering machine. It stated I better be ready to discuss the matter. When I felt able to respond, I did.
A recent "identity theft" issue made me more aware of consumer rights. An employee repeatedly said $13000 in a loud voice. Once I started reading the FTC guidelines, her demeanor altered slightly. I agreed to be available for fax messaging after work the following day. Work, ID theft procedures, and GC Services made the completion of the workday impossible.
I went to a hospital upon which I was placed on medication and scheduled for follow-up treatment. When I got home, I tried to discuss the matter and explain situation. GC Services stated they did not need to send written notification. They also stated the client was proceeding with action. I was told I was chemically imbalanced. Which actually was true but it was a denigrating statement against individuals with mental problems. She challenged my effectiveness as a teacher if I was chemically imbalanced as though there were no such thing as ADA. A supervisor came on and accused me of "stalling." My medication started to kick in, I contacted a lawyer for consultation and filed an online complain at www.ftc. Gov
P.S. I also found out GS Service employee earn $8.50 to $9.00 an hour. Hmmm. Quite a dichotomy between that pay and the pay increase to $60K I stand to receive starting June. Anyway the lawyer stated I should not talk to them anymore and my consultation is less than two weeks away.
Side Note: Don't let people like this get you upset as they made me. Your health and well being are more important than trying to discuss matters with close minded clones who do not know anyway to make themselves good than to ascribe to the "I'm O.K., You're not O.K. Ideology."
True this is embedded in a slew of obstacles right now but as long as I kept my head and finish the remaining 8 units of my current graduate program, I'll be able to move on and hopefully go for my doctorate in English.
U.S. Navy Rocks!
