Grand Getaways; Fraudulant
While living in Boston, Massachusetts I purchased magazines offered by Grand Getaways $40.00 Gasoline Rebate program. Then in January I moved to Sarasota, Florida not more than two miles from Grand Getaway's office address.
So after I submitted my first voucher and they were slow to respond, I personally drove to their office to do a "followup" on how I get my rebate. I talked to the secretary Shannon where I indicated (clearly) that I think they aren't on the up and up. She assured me they were and I would receive my first $10.00 rebate in something like six weeks. Personally I don't understand why it takes so long, but then again they are dealing with money paid out. Never-the-less I did receive a first and a second $10.00 rebate check. I am sure that's because I live in Sarasota.
I submitted my third voucher and they returned it rejected because they claim I did not include a copy of the gasoline purchase along with my voucher, whereas I know I did. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and mailed in another third voucher set in July.
Since it is well past the time to receive my next check, I decided to call them at their number of (800) 315-1037 Ext. 288 last week on February 3. A voice message came on where they said they are experiencing a great deal of call volume and to call back at another time. We've heard that before. Never-the-less I decided to call several times on February 6, as well as on February 7 and heard the same answer.
As a result, I decided to take a drive and visit their office personally at 401 N. Cattleman Road, Suite 200; Sarasota, Florida 34232. They are not there. It looks like they are in the process of moving out or already have done so. They did not respond to my knocks on their doors. Someone on the floor from another office said he had heard they were bought out by some other company, which may or may not be true.
