Lynn Laychak, sole owner and operator of A Curio Cabinet, contracted to conduct an estate sale of everything in my house, following my relocation out-of-state. Finally, more than a month later, I received an itemized list of everthing that was sold, along with a check for nearly $2,400.
When I tried to deposit this check, it bounced. I could not locate Laychak because she had both her cell phone and home phone blocked. Finally, I was forced to hire a private detective to track her down. That cost me over $1,300. After the detective threatened Laychak with legal action, she told me she sent me two checks via registered mail—one for the $2400 she owed me from the sale, and another to reimburse me for the extra expenses I incurred having her located. Neither check has ever made it to my place of residence and Laychak continues to block her cell and home phones so that I cannot contact her or even leave a message.
Additionally, Laychak told me that a large screen television set in the house had NOT been sold but was left with other items and taken by the liquidator who cleared out the house. However, both the realtor and the private detective were in the house BEFORE the liquidator cleared it out and they both distinctly remember that the television set was GONE!
Laychak has done this to others before me.in fact, the woman who rents her the store space is not renewing her lease because of all the numerous complaints she has received from other people who were ripped off by one of her "estate sales". She has written numerous bad checks to people. Her landlord only accepts cash from her because of all the bad checks she received from Laychak.
It is really very frightening that people like this are out there ripping off unsuspecting, innocent people. Please beware of anyone by the name of Lynn Laychak and for heaven's sake don't trust this person with the keys to your house!!! She will clean out your house for sure—BUT YOU WON'T HAVE A DIME TO SHOW FOR IT!!!
She is a chronic, chronic liar and thinks nothing of taking your stuff, selling it, and vanishing with YOUR MONEY!!! To date I have not received a penny for all of the items she sold in my house PLUS she has failed to return my house keys!!!
