Having experiencece numerous MLM schemes in the past, I am well familiar with their methods. Recently, a company called West Coast Wellness began a radio advertising campaign in our area. Looking for a business of my own, I arranged to attend one of their information sessions in Los Angeles.
As soon as I realized this was yet another MLM scheme, I immediately was on my guard. But this one eclipsed even my worst experiences with MLM. Sure there were the typical misleading boasts about building your own pyramid with just 5 individuals who in turn would find 5 more, etc., etc., etc. This is followed by the numerous slides showing the "income" that this would generate. What sets this program apart from any others I've seen is that the folks who are running this scam have set it up so they can't possibly lose any money and stand to gain money even if you as an individual are a total failure. First, you are charged $169 just for the privilege of being able to buy their products. Next, in order to get people to buy in under "your pyramid", you are encouraged to give away numerous samples of their products. Of course, you are charged for all of this so, once again, our "top dogs" make money. Then the program offers huge discounts on pricing if you put money in upfront. They talk about putting in $50,000 or more but, of course, never guarantee that you'll get your money back if you can't grow your business. And finally, like all the other MLM scams, they never show you a percentage distribution of the people who make money vs. Those who don't make a dime. Of course, the people running this ripoff continue to make money no matter what. Oh, one more thing, if you want to benefit from their radio or other advertising, you have to kick in $1000 a month. They promise you referrals from this, but what guarantees do you the give you? None!!!
This company is the Southern California "front" for Wellness International, Inc. My advice to anyone is to steer clear of these people and don't even waste your time checking them out.
