Ripoff Dishonest, unresponsive, unwilling to resolve issue

Don't use Econolivery!!!

I am writing you today to warn you about a company that we did business with back in August. DO NOT use this company!!! They are the masters at "Customer-No-Service".

Here is the story. This actually happened to me personally. Back on August 12 of this year, My husband, brother, niece and nephew and I had used the services of the ECONOLIVERY out of Jersey City, NJ to get from Kennedy Airport to Scotch Plains, NJ. I accidentally left my cardigan sweater in the van. It was one that was from Germany, and it was valuable to me, also sentimentally. I called the Econolivery as soon as I returned home to NY state. They looked for, and found, my sweater. Ms. Nicole Romano, the "Client Service Representative", said she would mail it to me as soon as possible. I told her that I was more than willing to pay the shipping for her to do so.

I understand that it was my mistake to leave the cardigan there in the first place, but they DID find it, and they DID promise to return it to me. A week went by, and Ms. Romano said she had not mailed it yet. I called repeatedly and always received the same answer.

Finally she said it was gone, after about 6 weeks of being there in the office. When I implied she had lost it, she adamantly said "I did NOT lose it!" What does that tell you?

I requested either my sweater or $30, which is a very minimal price to pay for the negligence of the Ms. Romano and the company. She would repeatedly tell me she would look for it, but when I would call back, she would say she didn't look for it. I requested $30 again, upon which she said she did not have $30. I asked to talk to a supervisor or manager. I was told that he was not in. She claimed he works after her shift is over, and said I should try to call back after 6. I did this repeatedly, each time being told I should call back in the day, and talk to either Nicole or Bob. Bob is Bob Kaldas or Bob Caldis, the manager, I suspect. I was given 2 different spellings of his name by 2 different employees. I was told that Bob works the day shift, whereas Ms. Romano claims he works the night shift.

I left countless messages for Bob to call me, with the day and night shift. I never received any calls from the company at all. He did not respond to any of my messages or emails. Now I believe, he did not get any of those messages.

I finally was given Bob's phone number by one of the night workers. I reached him on the first try. He said he thought the matter had been handled a long time ago. He said he would call me back " in 5 minutes" after he talked with Nicole. He never called back. When I reached him again after a couple of hours, he said he had told Nicole to "Cut me a check".

This was the week of Thanksgiving so he asked for my understanding, since this is the busiest time for those in the travel business. He told me the check would me mailed on Friday, November 25. I should call Nicole and tell her so... I did, and she told me that she was told NOT to write me a check.

She still adamantly said that the sweater was NOT lost... But no one seemed to have it. It is keeping SOMEONE warm this winter, and it is NOT it's owner, ME! I tried to call Bob, whose number was no longer in service. Funny, huh? I called Nicole back and asked for a different number. She claimed she didn't have one. I asked her how she would get in touch with him if she needed to, he being her supervisor... She said, he would have to call her. Funny way of doing business... THEN, she said he lives in OHIO!!! SO first he works days with her, according to the night crew, then he works evenings according to Nicole, and NOW he lives in Ohio!!! Nicole said that the owner of the company had told her not to write the check. Enter Emad Sader. I talked to him at the 800 number after 7pm. He said his company was not able to pay me $30 for losing my sweater, but that Nicole was personally responsible. NO ONE there has been willing to take responsibility for their negligence and keep the customer happy.
I went so far as to contact the Better Business Bureau. If you look on their website www.econolivery.com, you will see they claim to be a member of the BBB. HOWEVER, They are NOT members, according to the BBB. They also have several unsettled complaints from customers, not only mine. I doubt that I will ever get either the sweater or the $30 from these corrupt business people. I urge you NOT to support this business. They are crooks. They have NO customer service skills whatsoever.incidentally, just a moment ago, I was able to get through to Bob, who was the most helpful of the bunch. He told me that he is no longer working for the company because of the way they deal with customers. I was the last straw. All this over $30. I have called on an almost daily basis for over 4 months now, probably at least 100 times, with no results.
