I joined the Landair Team as a company on 10/25/05 into a dedicated account (Sonoco) out of Hartsville, SC. Dispatchers wanted to send me to dayton New Jersey over the Weekend, I decided to refuse the load and request a load towards the house (Augusta, GA)
They told me I would have to take the load or my job and DAC would be in jeopardy. Taking that as a threat I told them I was not going to take the load and that I would rent a car and drop the truck off at the nearest terminal.
So after awhile that day they send me a message to relay the same load in Augusta GA. Now I have ran 2981 miles for the week already Mon.-Fri. So i'm thinking cool and head that way. But once I get to the Sonoco Customer in Augusta they send me a message saying to clean out my truck and that I have told someone in dispatch that I was quiting. (Not True).
So nevertheless they Charged me a recovery fee of $1100 and $250 for orientation fees (which I don't even think is legal) on my last check. So the whole 2981 miles I ran for them was for free. And I my checkstub says I still owe them $268.29, With a Messed up DAC for abandonment of truck.
Drivers please take A hint and don't mess with this lieing, cheating and down right dirty Company. They are not worthy of any driver working for them.
