Do not use the us postal service for package delivery! On October 27 I brought a package I was returning to a store for merchandise that did not fit my daughter for an exchange. I paid for delivery confirmation and was told my package would be delivered in two days. After ten days, the package did not arrive to the addressee. I contacted the Post Office 800 and spoke w / a supervisor Linda who stated I had to wait another week. I waited 8 more days, and the package still had not been sent back to the merchandiser. I contacted the post office again to complain and was basically told "oh well, your bad luck". On November 16 I was contacted by my local postmaster and told the same thing. I was informed that the package never arrived to the city I sent it and they didn't know where it was and they would do nothing about it!
Therefore, the US Post office is basically telling their employees "hey, check those packages, if you like it take it because the sender will just be out of luck!!!" I have proof I dropped it off at my local post office and it doesn't matter to them.
So, some child of a post office employee has a brand new coat, my daughter is out a coat and I'm out the money I had to buy her one.
Moral-USE FED EX or UPS! I have not had a problem with them ever! The US Post office cannot be trusted with your packages and with todays economy and the holidays coming, BEWARE... Your packages will make nice gifts for employee there and your intended and you will be out of luck!!!
