A very animated telemarketer from Consolidated Media Services called me back in October, telling me I was entered in a sweepstakes. All I needed to do was "help them out" with US News Magazine and recieve 5 other Magazines for free. The cost for US News, as I remember, was 4 payments of $60.
However, I found out later that I'd be charged $66.65 every month, for one year, making the total for these magazines nearly $800!! I called their customer service, wishing to cancel, but they were very rude, one even yelled at me for wasting her time!
I listened to a recorded conversation of the agreement I had with them, and I never agreed to the contract, and I was told there was a 100% satisfaction gaurantee. They refused to change anything.
I was also charged on my credit card $96 by something called "Connections", which CMS gave my information and Credit card info to! But, I did get that money back, connections was good about it. It must happen a lot!
I now have reported CMS to the Better Business Buerau in Atlanta and it seems that CMS has finally stopped charging my credit card. I did cancel that card so they can't do it again.
I don't think I will ever see the HUNDREDS of dollars I did pay to CMS again, though I would like the money they scammed me out of back!
I would like everyone they scammed money out of to get it back!
I just noticed an E-mail, like the post card they use to sell magazines, from CMS, asking me to call them! I could not believe it!
Now, I just hope CMS gets shut down!
