Southern Pine Landscape, Inc. And Derrick Kidulas (Owner) are scam artists. They give yard guys a bad name. Back in July of '05 Derrick gave us a reasonable offer to trim our Palm trees in our front yard. We gladly paid the $130 up front to him since we were going to be out of town the following couple of days when he was scheduled to do the work.
3 weeks went by with no trim. My wife called and spoke to him and he said he would be by that Saturday. He and one of his "cronies" climbed on our roof and attempted to trim one out of the 4 tress. He only managed to trim one side of a tree and then left the trimmings in our front yard. When we called again he gave the excuse was weather and that he would be by to finish next week. September rolls around and no site of Derrick and his bushwackers.
We call again and he says his tree climber was sick and then quit on him and he was hiring another one. I told him if it wasn't finished by that Saturday then I would like a refund so that I could hire my yard guy to do the work. No work and no refund by October 1st. I call and left several messages stating to bring our refund but still no courtesy call from Derrick.
I call his house and reach him and he tells me that he has hired another climber and that he has been busy. I said I know were're a small account but just the same it has been over 3 months with no communication on your end and I would like a refund. This sets him off and he claims that he did cut one tree and that the refund would only be for $100 I told him that was not the case he did 1/3 of one tree and you left the debirs in my front yard which he had stated that he would take away in the original estimate.
It is now mid October '05 and no refund. Stay well clear of this company and its owner. If you do have the misfortunate of working with this guy don't pay up front. And anyone of the guys that works for him get out and start your own company you could make 5 times as much as this prick is paying you.
