I received a call from Luebke, Baker and Associates claiming that an account with a magazine company was past due, but that I could pay it in full for $862 or pay a reduced amount of $390 because of the Fair Settlements Act, rather than be sent to a debt collection agency. I had already closed the account 9 months ago, so I called the original company back and they said my account was "PAID IN FULL". I returned the call to Luebke, Baker and Associates to let them know this was fraud, as well as filed a complaint with the FTC.
