A Professional Movers
Dishonest moving company that steals your Items, ripoff

After doing the proper research, I selected A Professional Movers to help with my mother's most recent move. We had "Mike" come out and do an on-site estimate.in the estimate he (in writing) quoted us based upon the following: $200 for additional moving materials, $80 per man for 3 moving men, plus gas from my mother old house to the new one. Because we needed overnight storage, due to scheduling issues, that was an additional $90. All in the entire estimate turned out to be about $990 for an in-state move.

On moving day, the movers showed up 2 hours late, and I had to call them to ask where they were. I received no call apologizing in advance that the movers would be late. When they got there, there were 4 movers (which they promised would help the move go faster) they claimed that there was a terrible accident on the highway. (I spoke to a friend who is a NJ State Trooper, there was NO ACCIDENT) This was the first of many lies. It took them about 5 hours to get everything on the truck and they went on their way, with directions to the new house for the next morning.

The next morning, my scheduled "drop off" had been put off by another job. So, we were told that the movers would be there by 4 pm that day. At 4:15 no movers, when I called to find out where they were, I got major attitude from the receptionist/coordinator who initially, was as sweet as sugar to get my business, turned into a nasty, disrespectful individual when I inquired on the whereabouts of the movers.

"Sorry, but this job was important" is what she said and said that she would call right back. I had to call her back, an hour later only to find out that the movers would NOT be there on that day and my mother would have to wait to have her things delivered until the next day.

Upon arrival the next morning at 9:00 the movers informed me that they needed to be paid first before they took anything off the truck. When I was presented with the final bill I was floored to find that it was $1,600!! I was charged $95 p/h for 4 men with a new 10 hour minimum attached. It took them 2 hours to unload the truck 2 and 6 is 8, right? There were several boxes that we did not receive/use that we were charged for.

When I protested, the "foreman" stated that he felt that we (my mother and I) were being treated unfairly and he was "so sorry".in hindsight, I think he was playing along as the "good guy" against his boss who was, and I quote an "A*hole" and the bad guy. I reluctantly paid these people because they had all of my mother's belongings in their possession and my hands were tied.

After this move 2 months ago, my mother was hospitalized and we are just doing and inventory of things. Of course the obvious, large items are there, but items that were tucked away in boxes like my mothers jewelry box, 2 small lamps that belonged to my great-grandparents, etc. Are missing.

Observations: I am a female, and obviously so is my mother, and I feel that these losers took advantage that all boyfriends and male relatives were not present. As a matter of fact, my boyfriend left a meeting once he found out how upset I was, and was on his way over, when they over heard this conversation and hurried the heck out of there.

What was stolen could not immediately be detected. So it has taken us this long to figure it out.

A Professional Movers can be put on notice that we have contacted a team of attorneys. You will be served shortly.

To all those reading this, beware of A professional movers, although I think they've changed their name to just Professional Movers. However the same players remain: Jennifer: the receptionist/coordinator, Mike, the "big boss" who has a very thick accent.

These people are liars and thieves.in addition, companies that are advertising this company on their web-sites, might want to think again. The common perception would be birds of a feather, generally flock together.
