Ripoff, charge for things you rejected, rude customer svc. Blatant lies Palatine

Joined Alltel 2/05 with one line because it would be advantagous to my husband's job. First bill in March was ok except we were charged for Mr. Rescue which we had clearly stated we did not want. I called and they credited that. Before our 2nd bill in April arrived, Alltel called us to tell us we were way over our minutes and they could help us with that. They moved us up to a calling plan that would better fit our needs and cut out the charge for all the overage. I thought, what a great company. When the bill did arrive I never even looked it over, I was just pleased we weren't having to pay $270. Now, everything should be straightened out and we could expect a normal bill the next month.

May bill comes and we're overcharged again. I have to get on the phone and talk with several differrent people. We're being charged for phone calls out of our calling area, but we hadn't been out of our calling area. I told them to adjust the charge because I wasn't going to pay it. It took some time but they agree. I did notice however that we hadn't used even 25% of our anytime minutes but yet we were over by 491 minutes the month before. This was when they suggested we go up to a more expensive calling plan because it would benefit us. I'm not so sure about that now. Doesn't seem likely we used almost 1200 minutes one month and just over 300 the next. I'm definitly having a hard time believing we used all those minutes, we'de have had to lived on the phone. I did't actually become suspicious about that until just recently because I've started paying very close attention.

Then we add on a line for myself and consider getting rid of our landline. June rolls around and the bill is almost $200 again. I had to get someone on the line and I made them go over every single charge. Once again we're charged for calls outside our area. This is when they tell us about dialing 228 to avoid other towers picking us up. First time this has been mentioned. Refused again to pay the overcharge. But this time they've charged us a $20 activation fee for my new line and charged me $10 for sending the phone. Neither of these charges were mentioned. I had asked when my phone would arrive and she said in 2 days. I thought that was pretty good. I honestly didn't think about an activation fee because we were adding a 2nd line and often there isn't a charge because they trying to get your service. I paid for those things because I would have even if they had mentioned it, but I wasn't happy that they hadn't. However they had to remove over $60 in unexplainable charges. Isin't there something wrong with this picture? Also, even between both me and my husband we only used about 60%of our anytime minutes. Do I believe we were really over our minutes in the beginning. No I don't, I believe it was something they do in order to get you on a higher priced program.

Now I call 611 on both our phones about every 3rd day and we're never even close to our minutes. But our July balance is $200 and I'm already livid. The actual bill hasn't yet arrived so I'm more than curious to find out what they're trying to charges for now. Once again I'll spend my valuable time trying to straighten all this out. If these issues can't be resolved we will be cancelling their svc. And I'll fight every inch of the way to not pay the $200 cancellation fee. It's there crappy management of things that is causing the problems. I regret dealing with Alltel.
