Joke Company that needs some competition

I seriously don't know where to start with how disgusted I am with Comcast. I just moved into a new apartment (7/04) and thought it might be nice to have cable television. I called Comcast and inquired about the service. They informed me that they were offering a package. The package as explained was that you received cable/internet/phone service for a fee of $99.99 tax every month. I thought well that is a great deal, and that I would get all my services through Comcast so it would be all on one bill. 2 months pass, and I get a notice that my phone bill is overdue and that I needed to pay an amount of my phone would be shut off. I was very confused as I thought I had been paying for my services. I called and talked to someone in the phone group and they informed me that they are billed seperately. Apparently they can't bill them together for some federal regulation reason? I have no idea. I didn't argue, but I told them I had never received a bill of any kind indicating phone service (that I knew of). I didn't argue and paid the bill in full over the phone, as I may have been confused because I wasn't looking for 2 seperate bills. This was never expalined to me otherwise I would have paid both bills.

So everything is fine, and my December/January bill comes and it ows like $144 odd dollars for my cable/phone/internet. I was like that simply can't be right. I was paying $99.99 = tax before. I don't call long distance so that can't be right. I called and they said the "plan" that I had when I signed up for was no longer $99.99 tax. They raised the cable & internet fee to $99.99 and the phone was billed the same - 5.00 for the package rate. To top it all off they insisted that should have recieved a letter explaining this.

Hmmm... Now twice I am missing mail from Comcast. I don't miss things from other companies, but for some reason I "lose" things from them? I seriously and highly doubting that they even sent anything at all and just raised my service prices.

Well I downright refuse to pay that much for cable/internet. I called and canceled my service IMMEDIATELY. I also called and canceled my phone because I signed up with Qwest for phone & internet for MUCH cheaper, and it's just as fast in my book.

SO... They schedule someone to come out to take my equipment between a 2 hour window one night. The first guy comes up, takes my modem for the internet. Leaves all the cables, adapters, etc behind. Next guy comes for the phone, takes the phone box. Leave the wires everywhere, another wire coming out of my phone jack, etc. Um... You hooked this up you can take it back. Sorry Comcast but I don't need you wires in my phone jack. I am not an electrian and I don't know how to get them off. I called and told the rep that I live in a apartment, and that jack has to be the way it was when I moved in. It can't look like that. They said they would call the person who came out back and call me back to setup another time for him to come out. They NEVER called. 2 weeks now. 2 weeks now and they have not even come and taken the cable box. 2 weeks now and I am still watching CABLE. Mind you I don't mind I have fee cable. Is this company a joke? They were all to happy to come out and hook it up, but when it comes time to leaving as there customer they do a horrible job in cleaning up the process.

I would never have there service in my home again. My move is temp and I am working in another state for a short period of time, and if things work out will be buying here. But I will have rabbit ears coming off my TV before they set foot in my house.

I think this company needs some competition, then we will see how bad there services are.
